SOCCER CAMP Highlight Day 3: SOCCER EMPHASIS. Now, we know what your thinking. It's Soccer Camp, of course their is a soccer emphasis! However, it's not just roll the ball out on the field an play a game. It's more than that! Each morning every camper goes through various drills while working on the specific skill of the day(passing, receiving the pass, dribbling, shooting, etc.). Each drill is coached and trained by staff who are not just looking for players to do the drill, but to make sure that it is helping them become a better player. They don't want you to just go through the motions. In the afternoon there is Dutch Soccer, which is played on a small field and is usually only 4 v 4 with the goals being cones that you have to hit. It's a game that teaches you how to make controlled passes and touches. Then there are the team matches in the evening which are played to help you put what you have learned in the drills into real game scenarios and to learn how to play as a team. It all caps off with the famed International Matches on Friday where the camp is split into different teams(countries) and they play to see who comes out on top!
